Too often we all take life for granted. We all get caught up in what are really mainly nothing more than irrelevant distractions.
Yes, we all have to do things to earn our keep and those of us who are responsible rightly place everything that’s needed to do to live our best lives as priority.
But what’s missing for most of us is what we do when we’re winding down for the day.
Even if during down time you read, educate yourself in whatever way you can, and are constantly moving forward, there’s still the missing piece that’s right there for us all.
The old saw “Stop and smell the roses” is one we’re all familiar with and have likely given it more than a cursory passing thought as to what it really means.
But do we really practice it?
For most of us, the answer is no.
We’re so bombarded with distractions that are intentionally designed to keep us from this simple truth:
Life is a gift that should be cherished with every single moment we have.
Once we simplify things, the better we can begin to filter out all the noise and distractions. And once we begin to do that, we begin to see what’s wasting our time and what’s important.
Too often these days, I see a lot of people who believe that we’re fighting for the soul of not only America, but all over the world, get into petty arguments over who’s a shill, who’s a “paytriot” and who’s right.
For the most part this is a major waste of time and a drain on our souls. If you see something posted by someone and you’re unsure of their motivations, then take the time to see where they’re coming from and in time you’ll begin to see the truth.
Diving into petty arguments on social media is a tactic the globalists use to to divide everyone and this is something that anyone who believes in freedom should avoid.
It’s really that simple.
The less we think in me vs. you and us vs. them the more we’ll focus on what really matters and not bother with the noise.
As Steve Bannon always says, “This is signal, not noise.”
And when you think in these terms, this makes so much more sense:
Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
- Matthew 7:6
This Is All I Ask
The song “This Is All I Ask” written by Gordon Jenkins in 1958 truly captures the meaning of this and this recording by the great Tony Bennett takes it to such a level where the lyrics and the arrangement are magical.
This Is All I Ask
As I approach the prime of my life
I find I have the time of my life
Learning to enjoy at my leisure
All the simple pleasures and so I happily concede
That this is all I ask
This is all I need
Beautiful girls
Walk a little slower when you walk by me
Lingering sunsets
Stay a little longer with the lonely sea
Children everywhere
When you shoot at bad men, shoot at me
Take me to that strange
Enchanted land, grown-ups seldom understand
Wandering rainbows
Leave a bit of color for my heart to own
Stars in the sky
Make my wish come true before the night has flown
And let the music play
As long as there's a song to sing
And I will stay younger than Spring
- Gordon Jenkins 1958
It’s such a beautifully written song that’s about someone who is coming to grips with their mortality and is looking for a way to slow things down so he can enjoy what he’s seeing just a little longer.
Because he’s come to the realization that all of this is fleeting.
These days with the war we’re all involved in whether we’re aware of it or not, we all need to take this to heart for the betterment of our souls.
Stand firm for what you believe, but don’t waste your time arguing with people who will likely never understand what freedom is actually all about.
The real fight is for our souls and the more in tune with our own souls and values that we become, the less power they have over us.
This is where the war is being waged.
