A troubling trend we’re recently seeing and hearing from some (mostly black pillers naturally) is when someone builds a following and then monetizes their video channel, Substack, or platform and sure enough the accusations start:
Shill.
Here’s why this is way off the mark people:
From big timers like Steve Bannon, right down to folks like Dave from The X-22 Report, JP Sears, from AwakenWithJP, and others many of us might follow, a lot of them are also endorsing and selling products along with their content.
And this is not a bad thing. This is how a free market works.
This is how they’re making a living outside of the traditional way where you have to be sponsored by corporations who pull all the strings and then can stifle what you put out.
These folks have created new sources of information that are free and self sufficient and aren’t beholden to anyone but their audience.
That’s the whole idea behind being an independent content creator.
So when someone asks for tips, charges $5 a month for premium access, or has content behind a paywall, this is how they’re financing themselves to be able to do what they do.
The Big Boys Screwed Up
A huge blunder that led to the death of newspapers was the mistake of not using a subscription model for their content when the internet started to become a primary place as a source of information.
Many didn’t catch on to the idea until it was way too late. Meanwhile other news sources (like the Drudge Report which definitely ‘sold out’ in the sense others are accused of) popped up and prospered on the internet and by then it was game over.
Traditional mainstream newspapers such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, and even the Wall Street Journal (which actually did get into paid subscriptions right off the bat) now have lost their prestige and clout as the go to sources for news for a lot of people.
Thankfully I might add.
We’re now in a new age where even a guy like me can write something and publish it and get it out to hundreds and thousands of people where 15-20 years ago this wasn’t really easy to do.
Websites like American Thinker and Townhall etc. also have subscription plans that offer content that’s suited for those of us who want to get news and opinions from an America First perspective.
So please remember when you see someone like Brian and Duane (Brent) Cates, Tracy Beanz, Kyle Just Human, and many others asking for financial support, keep in mind these are people who are replacing those entrenched, corrupt, corporate controlled (and we know who’s up the food chain there) enterprises who aren’t giving you the truth as well.
Well Would You Look at This!
Just today, Donald Trump Jr. suddenly announced MxM News which was a nice surprise. MxM News is currently available in the Apple AppStore as an iOS app (Android coming soon) that curates news from various sources which hopefully will fill a nice niche for everyone.
This is the new media.

Don't Call Them Shills
Add to this the devaluation of independent journalism from incessant (and free) social media noise. This culture of 140 character from-the-hip hot takes requires the reader to use a sadly uncommon skill - discernment. People have become desensitized to the value of real creators who spend real time developing their articles.
