A Life Well Lived

What is a life well lived?

It is not one that is measured by wealth, possessions, or property

It is not one that even counts a number of friends

A life well lived is one that is lived day by day

And as time goes on, always gathering wisdom and insight

A life well lived is filled with joy and sorrow

Love and pain

Beauty, despair, and loneliness

A life well lived is understanding truth and always learning to find a way

A life well lived is one that knows that there is always a beginning 

And always an end

A life well lived is what is done in between 

And what is left behind

Laughter

Tears

Hope

Memories

A life well lived is one that values family over all

A life well lived is one that lives forever

On and on

Never ending
